Non-Surgical Facial Cosmetic Services

Non-Surgical Facial Cosmetic Treatments

We understand that the appearance of the skin on your face is vital for your confidence and self-esteem. Unfortunately, premature signs of aging such as lines, wrinkles, and sagging can happen all too quickly, causing many patients to feel embarrassed about their appearance. This can hold back personal relationships and even your career. Fortunately, there are a number of cosmetic services, both surgical and non-surgical, that can rejuvenate your face and help you look younger and more attractive.

We are pleased to be able to offer a variety of different non-surgical facial cosmetic services, including the following popular procedures that can totally transform the appearance of your face.

Fillers

Dermal fillers are a highly popular non-surgical facial cosmetic service. The procedure involves a series of injections into the target area which place your chosen filler under the skin. As you might have guessed from the name, they work by quite literally filling parts of your face that had previously lost volume, causing sagging and deep lines to develop.

The majority of fillers are made up of either collagen or hyaluronic acid, naturally-occurring substances that become less and less present in our bodies as we age. Since they are responsible for holding onto moisture, keeping our skin soft, supple and elastic, once our bodies start producing less of them, the skin becomes drier and loses volume and elasticity.

The procedure for dermal fillers is very straightforward. Your cosmetic surgeon will place a small amount of numbing cream over the target area which will ensure you don’t experience any discomfort when the injections are given. A small amount of your chosen filler will be injected into each pre-determined location using an ultra-fine needle. Your surgeon will massage the area each time, ensuring even distribution of the filler so that you get the best esthetic result from your procedure. The entire process usually takes less than an hour, after which you can return to your usual activities. Some minor swelling is normal, and you may feel a little sore, but this can usually be alleviated with over the counter pain relief if required.

Exactly how long the results of your fillers will last can vary between patients and depend on the type of filler you choose. However, typically the effects of your procedure will be maintained for up to six months.

Botox

Botox is one of the most well-known types of non-surgical facial cosmetic procedure. The substance itself is a neurotoxin that has been shown to be very successful in preventing fine lines and wrinkles, while also making the skin appear smoother and more youthful. It does this by paralyzing the muscles in the area where it is placed, preventing them from contracting and the skin above them from creasing up into lines and wrinkles.

Like fillers, Botox is also administered via injection into the skin at pre-determined locations. A topical anesthetic will be used to ensure that you aren’t in any discomfort while the Botox is placed, and the procedure should take under an hour. You will be able to return to work or your usual activities afterward. The longevity of the results of Botox can vary between patients, but in most instances, they will last around six months before further treatment is required.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a fairly new process that involves puncturing hundreds of tiny holes into the skin. Fortunately, the application of topical anesthetic means that this process isn’t painful. However, it does serve two purposes. Firstly, the tiny pinpricks cause minor injury to the skin which prompts it to start healing itself. Part of this healing process involves the stimulation of collagen and elastin production, causing the skin to rejuvenate, becoming plumper and improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. Secondly, the tiny holes created to allow for the easy absorption of products containing anti-aging and collagen-building ingredients. These can help boost the overall condition and quality of the skin, helping you to enjoy a more youthful appearance.

The microneedling process involves using either a dermapen or roller places over the skin to create the holes. The procedure takes around 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being targeted, and you can expect some swelling, soreness, and bleeding afterwards. Your face will likely remain red for a few days, but this will subside quickly as the healing begins. Most patients find that to get truly effective results, they will need several treatments each year to continually build collagen and elastin.
